The Bear is an original hand-painted 6x8 inch piece I did while working on my boat in the summer of 2023. After needing some much-needed inspiration, both professionally and personally, I found this incredible photo taken by a local Toronto Street Photographer Chris Greco. I immediately felt pulled to it, painting it in gallery-quality liquid charcoal on archival, acid-free paper. I loved the sadness of the image. Trying to perserve the original photograph, I poured my sadness into this piece. I loved the melancholy of the bear, and the beautiful image between a child's toy and the feeling reflected in the overall piece. Framed and backed, ready to hang and be yours. There is only one copy of this painting in the world.
